“Little Boy” is one of those old-timey movies.

It has an old-timey World War II-era set, old-timey period costumes and an old-timey theme — that faith and unwavering love can conquer all.

The story works. In fact, it works beautifully.

A nicely balanced cast help tell the story of an 8-year-old boy with unremitting love for his father.

But Jakob Salvati as the young boy and Emily Watson as his mother truly shine.

As does Kevin James as the lecherous Dr. Fox.

There are nicely concealed twists and turns throughout the 106-minute film.

But the movie reinforces the concept that faith can move mountains. And when the little village where is the story is set begins to shake, many gain faith.

“LIttle Boy,” a 2015 release, is the kind of heart-warming tale that will put a smile on your face.

We rate it three stars.
